At the time, a war between the two great cities of Karisto Kingdom, Sol and Conkram, was taking place. Both sides had suffered heavy casualties. It was at this time when Sol sent in their secret weapon, a master swordsman named Gaza. Gaza was the owner of a sword forged from the bodies of dead Seru, giving it magical abilities. He had dubbed this the ‘Astral Sword’. With this sword, Gaza could move at unimaginable speeds, deal out intense damage, and severely wound if not kill anyone.

Conkram was racing to catch up in the war as they lost more and more soldiers to Gaza’s skill. King Nebular and Queen Minea, the true rulers of Karisto, were evenly matched by the uprising of a self-proclaimed Emperor, Etora VIII. With their son, Prince Cort, at the head of the defense research, they were hopeful that a breakthrough would come.

But things were still slow in Prince Cort’s research. Even with the help of Jette, the family servant, and a brilliant mind to boot, Cort could not figure a way to enhance the power of the Seru used in battle to be able to withstand the force of Gaza’s Astral Slash.

Just when they were about to give up, Cort stumbled across something that would change the history of Legaia forever. When experimenting with his gas-chemical augmenter shaft, a small thin trail of vapor formed inside the tube.

Perplexed by this, Cort tried placing a Seru inside of the tube and ran the simulation again.

The results he’d been looking for finally came. The Seru, which had been a newly found breed of the Iota Earth elemental, grew in size until it warped in dimension. A rift opened up and the shaft filled up with great puffs of a thick, white mist.

Overjoyed by his discovery, Cort was the first to try the new augmented power of the Seru. Unfortunately, what he did not take was that the mist formula, with which he had used to concoct the vapor, drove the Seru mad. The Iota had not absorbed enough to drive it insane, but had drunk in enough of the mist to possess it with evil intentions. Cort never stood a chance against the power of the Seru. But even though the beast was controlling him, a small piece of his humanity remained to fight back.

So, after the Mist had rolled onto the battlefield from the newly completed Absolute Fortress in the Karisto Cascadian Mountain Range, Cort set to work on enhancing the Seru themselves. He found it possible to fuse two Seru together, through a process of combining fragments of the Rogue Ra-Seru with regular, ordinary Seru. The reaction of the magics, depending on how many different Seru and Rogue fragments were fused, resulted in a stronger, more advanced Seru. The simulations of these prototype Seru were used in the war before the Mist brought things to a crashing halt.

It came to pass that Cort became placate with his work. When the Absolute Fortress' Mist rolled over the battlefield of the war, the Conkram side became much more powerful, with the enhanced Simulant Seru produced by Cort for them. Thus, he felt protected in a way, safe to go about his work. The Mist served only to increase the power of the Simulant Seru, none other. And with plans in mind to set up vast castles throughout Legaia to produce the Mist, Cort foresaw the ultimate golden age of Legaia through the Mist and the power of Sim-Seru.

But what he had not taken into account was that the Mist had enslaved the minds of the Seru and Sim-Seru alike. It drove them mad. He could not feel it either when the Iota-Sim that he himself wore went crazy. The only deviation in plans was to make the Mist stronger than he had originally planned. Here in, he discarded the Iota, whom had left the intentions of the Rogue Ra-Seru in his mind, and fashioned himself a Key-Seru. This Seru would be the ultimate self defense, provided he could bring the other half, the Lock-Seru, into existence. This Key-Seru would be the true key to awakening a monster that was slowly beginning to form in Cort's plans.

When news of the vast underground caverns of Ratayu reached his ears, he sent out Dohati with a specially trained Simulant Seru, and another, as a gift for the king, Bon Saryu. While Dohati had his castle built by the Seru, he himself went on an excursion to Ratayu, to present Saryu with the new Seru. Saryu was wary at first, but when he heard of the prosperity planned by Cort, he gave in immediately.

Cort's only requirement was that he be granted permission to build  a specialized machine underneath Ratayu to house and create giant seru. The first seru he would send was the Sim-Seru, Shell, that had been Conkram's pride. The only one of its kind. He had planned to use the Seru as a shield to prevent attacks from Sol's new battery that they had planned to install on the top level of the tower, but he needed first to enlarge it to tremendous proportions. The Shell was to be the first line of defense for Conkram, and the first Super Simulant Seru.

Saryu agreed brightly, and placed the seru on his head. He felt nothing different, except the extraordinary powers of the seru. Never did he realize the dark presence waiting in the back of his mind. And when the time was right, it stepped into the light, and took over Saryu.

Van Saryu, as he came to be called, began to take women from the city, for a strange purpose. The people who were taken only recieved the consolation of becoming a Bride of the Seru, whatever that meant. But none of them were ever seen or heard from again.

The Seru that had been given to Saryu was trained in 3 modes of operation.

Live, as you believe Saryu would.

Take the young women as a life-offering to the Seru.

And reproduce the juggernaut continuously until informed otherwise.

And so he did.

Then, as Dohati completed his castle and the newer Mist compound took hold on all seru and drove them out of their minds, the second of the Super Sim-Seru rolled out into the world. This was the Lock-Seru that Cort had required. Through his Key-Seru, he could control this monster to do whatever he needed done. And his first motus operandi....was to wipe the field of Sol soldiers. The monster transported itself to Karisto Kingdom through magic, trudged through the forest of Dhini on its six colossal legs, and made its way towards Conkram where the battle had been taken up by the Sols.

They never saw it coming. The first warning sign was the towering red and white mottled spikes that were moving through the forest in the gap between the mountains. Then, as the ground began to shake rhythmically, everyone dropped their weapons. When the head of the monster burst through the treeline, silence broke over the war. For the first time since the beginning of the war, the Sol and Conkram warriors began to work together. They set up defenses on the outside lines of the city, for the Conkram warriors did not know that Cort was controlling the beast.

The spiked behemoth stopped in its tracks right on the edge of the defenses. The gleaming white eyes turned a teal blue as it opened its mouth wide. A white light began to form in the back of its throat, coursing outwards to where a ball of pure energy began to shine. The light coming from this ball pulsed across the battle scarred landscape, visible from the front of the creature, through tiny pin holes in its cheeks, and streaming out of holes in the back of its head. Even the red v-shaped gash in its fore-head seemed to glow with this power.

In the last few seconds....everyone ducked for cover. People took up refuge behind pillars, some sat down and huddled up next to buildings.

But the beast did not fire its weapon. It merely swallowed the energy. From there, tentacle-like protrusions coursed out from every fleshy spot on its body, all of which aimed straight for the Shell. They wrapped themselves around it, and in a flash, the energy was coursing through the tentacles. The Shell began to grow at an alarming rate. Even more so than when the defensive magic was activated to enlarge it as a shield.

The Shell grew past the shield stage. Larger than Cort had ever imagined, even though he was watching everything through the monster's eyes. Finally, in a flash, the Shell encompassed everything, and everyone, inside of Conkram and the outer limits of the city. Everyone and everything became a living part of the Seru. As the juggernaut retrieved its tentacles, it turned again this time, released the remaining energy of the weapon on the mountain range behind it. The rockslide that ensued blocked the pass between the mountains indefinately as the heat from the blast fused the core elements in the rocks together. The mountain pass became nothing but solid rock. Conkram would no longer have to worry about Sol invading...but more so, Cort in the Absolute Fortress would no longer have to worry about being discovered. With this done, the beast turned and roared a sound that echoed like a demon's cry from the bowels of hell.

So was the first use of Juggernaut.

When Juggernaut arrived back at the Absolute Fortress, the power he exuded from his previous endeavor mixed in with the Mist Generator, turning the Mist into a devastating catalyst for madness among Seru. Juggernaut, in a way, took over Cort himself, through the very Key-Seru that was used to control him. Juggernaut had a mind of his own. And he would now act through Cort. He wanted to be the perfect entity. And for the next 10 years, he would use Cort to find every way possible to do it.

When the Mist Generators of the Floating Castle, Sebucus Islands and Drake Kingdom proved to be failing, Cort decided to switch materials used to make them. Originally, he had been using fragments of the Rouge Ra-Seru, as he had when meta-forming his own Sim-Seru. Their magic abilites seemed to surpass that of regular seru, but the fragments were unstable to say the least. Only when he heard of a prophecy foretold by the prophet Hari, early on before the first year of the -true- Mist Incident, did he learn of the Other Ra-Seru. The Genesis Trees. And the creatures that lay inside of them.

Until that time, Cort had never heard of such a thing as a Genesis Tree. But they appeared to be the cradles of the Holy Seru, the Ra-Seru. Seeing as how he had worked off of fragments of a Ra-Seru before, Cort decided to try and work with a Whole one. Unfortunately, he had no luck in reviving any from slumber.

During the first year of the Mist incident, he kept the fortresses supplied with enough Rouge Fragments to keep the Mist flowing steadily. But he began his search, and he also began to construct a Proto-type Mist Generator, overshadowing the old in the Absolute Fortress. It was here when Zora became part of the plan. She was able to take advantage of the gullability of a young Soren to achieve the power of two Ra-Seru Eggs. The third was lost in the process, but Cort was pleased with her work none the less.

In the mean time, Cort had successfully pulled two other Ra-Seru from the Seru-Kai. He sent a Ra-Seru Egg to Zeto, his most trusted Regeant, whom was in control of his castle in Drake Kingdom to the South. He sent a full Ra-Seru to Dohati, gave the other Ra-Seru Egg to Zora for her floating castle, and finally, kept one full Ra-Seru for his own prototype generator.

And so the Mist flowed for 9 more years. During the 10th year, however, the Generators began to fail again as the power of the Ra-Seru and eggs involved began to die. So, it was time to flush more Ra-Seru out of hiding. Fortunately for him, Juggernaut, or so he thought, had become his loyal pet. He sent Juggernaut to Zeto to attack the Genesis Trees of Drake Kingdom. The first and only one targeted was in Rim Elm. Juggernaut proved useful, finding a new breath weapon to use. He blew down the wall of Rim Elm with this new weapon, but before he could cause more destruction, Zeto sent him back to his castle.

What Zeto had not counted on was the Ra-Seru of Rim Elm teaming up with a human. But, he had other things to preoccupy his mind. There were 3 other Ra-Seru in Drake Kingdom, he could be sure of it. Here again, he used Juggernaut to first attack the largest mountain of the Snow Drift Range, as Cort had been able to detect the presence of a Ra-Seru inside. When that failed, he attacked the Genesis Tree of Mount Rikuroa in hopes of retrieving a Ra-Seru. To his delight, there was but one that came. Calling upon his faithful pet, the Caruban, Zeto entrusted it to bring back the Ra-Seru. As a reward the Caruban could do whatever to the girl that had been traveling with the Ra-Seru.

But once again, the first Ra-Seru and its host showed up to spoil Zeto's plans. It and it's host fought along side of the girl, and they together defeated the Caruban. When the Genesis Tree was revived, the second Ra-Seru transferred to the girl, and the two humans and Ra-Seru traveled on. Zeto's empire was slowly falling. But at this time, a monk from the local monestary appeared to him. One by the name of Songi. He claimed he knew how to get the Ra-Seru for Cort.

Zeto, overjoyed to hear that he wouldn't take the blame if the Ra-Seru got away, sent Songi straight to Cort by way of Juggernaut. As Songi knelt before Cort, he was granted a Sim-Seru in replacement for the Ra-Seru he had stolen from the Genesis Tree in the East Voz Forest. Songi was ecstatic, but claimed he had to rush back. So, Cort sent Juggernaut with him, and allowed Songi to use Juggernaut to destroy Biron Monestary.

It was a while before Songi returned with Juggernaut, but he came bearing news. A third Ra-Seru had been flushed out of hiding. And to Songi's dismay, it had taken up arms with his rival and the other two Ra-Seru. Songi brought news of Zeto's fall and the destruction of the Mist Generator of Drake Kingdom, but this didn't seem to bother Cort. He merely continued his studies, and secretly, Juggernaut prodded him into his study of the perfect body.

As the Ra-Seru and the humans progressed throughout Sebucus Islands, Cort became a little worried. So far, they had managed to bring one empire to ruin, and were working on the next. They had already revived the Genesis Tree of Jeremi, even after beating Cort's Berserker Guard. They had defeated Xain, one of Cort's most trusted body guards. Now, they had just defeated Songi yet again, even with his Sim-Seru powered up. Ratayu had fallen, and Cort would never see another Juggernaut in existence, besides his own.....or would he? No, not with Saryu back on the good side.

Soon, news of Dohati's death reached Cort's ears. Finally, with a great shudder, he heard of the sole reactivation of the Flying Carts for the Ra-Seru to reach Karisto Kingdom. But something came to mind. The girl that Songi had described....sounded incredibly like his mother, Minea. Perhaps, the three humans deserved more attention that what Cort was allotting them. He decided to keep a closer eye on them from that point in.

Songi soon brought news of their defeat of Gaza and his Sim-Seru. How the youth, named Vahn, was now wielding the Neo Astral Sword with better accuracy and deadlier aim than Gaza ever could have. The Mist had been driven from Sol as well.

Cort's trust began to rely soley on Zora and her body guards, the Delilases. Right now, they were the last defense against the final Genesis Trees. The giant Seru, Koru, whom had grown dangerous under the watch of Zora over the past ten years, kept the Genesis Trees blanketed under a layer of ice thicker than imaginable. So long as they were frozen, the Genesis Trees could not be revived.

When word reached Cort that the crazy Sol scientist Dr. Usha had sent the trio to Uru Mais, Cort saw the perfect opportunity to be rid of them for good. He summoned Juggernaut to attack the ancient ruin. But to his dismay, he saw through Juggernaut's eyes that they had escaped. And without enough power for another shot at them, Juggernaut had to return to the fortress to recharge. The perfect chance gone.

Soon, Zora came with news of the Delilases defeat. Could nothing stop these three and their Ra-Seru? She also stated that they had managed to finish off Koru before he could detonate, and also revived the Genesis Trees of Buma. All three of them.

Cort cursed himself for underestimating the kids.

He knew that the blasted Soren were still around, and that if the humans had the chance, they'd befriend the Soren and ask them to bring them to the Fortress. But what did he have to worry about? The Gate of Hell, a gate through which nothing could pass, and that could not be broken by anything, was in place. The only threat to it was the Nemesis Gem, a byproduct of the gate's creation. And no Nemesis Gems existed in this time.

Not too long after Zora left, Songi came back with news of the fall of the Floating Castle. With only two minions left, Cort did something drastic. He locked himself away in his laboratory with the Simulant Seru of both Songi, and of his servant, Jette, and began to enhance them beyond anything that he himself had ever created. Their power still did not surpass that of Juggernaut, but they were the strongest he could create himself. Giving them back to their owners, he commanded that the castle be put on high alert. All seru were to be warned not to let anyone in or out, save the three humans that already resided there.

Cort awoke one night from a strange dream. He thought about it for a moment, then realized something horrid. The people Songi had been following for him, the three youths and their Ra-Seru...he had met them before. One was his own dear sister, Noa. And to his great misfortune, his father had given them the Nemesis Gem as a reward for saving Conkram during Cort's first failed experiment. He immediately called Jette to arms. The youths would be knocking on the doorstep any second.

But to his suprise, Songi managed to report that they had returned to Ratayu for something. Only the next day did they return. Noa herself used the Gem to break down the Gate of Hell, but it wasn't his sister he was watching. It was the one with blue hair. He had a strange talisman around his neck. And it was exuding an evil aura. Whether or not the kid knew it, he had something very dangerous in his possession.

Cort began to become restless. So much that his feelings of unease traveled through the Key-Seru to Juggernaut, causing the beast to toss in his sleep. It would not be long.

They bested Jette with little trouble. Cort felt him go. But the unnerving part was that he had heard a familiar frightening roar, coming from the general direction of where Jette went to head them off. The castle shook violently immediately afterwards. And, knowing that since Juggernaut was asleep and didn't make one mover or sound, he became a little frightened to say the least.

Cort knew they'd be in his chambers momentarily. So, to make the dramatic entrance to his finale, he levitated up into the darkness, doing a final check on Juggernaut's vitals from a computer near the ceiling of his room. As the kids walked in, he slowly let himself down behind them. The three stepped up to the platform of the Mist Generator, and raised the Ra-Seru to it. Cort had to act quick.

He quickly invaded the mind of his Sister. With one odd out, they wouldn't be able to destroy the new prototype. He walked right up to them. They knew he was there to fight. So he wasted no time. He cast the Mystic Circle of his Key-Seru. The kids performed all sorts of various fighting techniques against the shield, all to no avail. He cast many a times, a mystic circle upon them that damaged with dark magic. The magic he drew from Juggernaut.

But after the youths began to launch all manners of Seru upon his shield, it finally broke. Cort was trapped. He had but one option. Calling upon his Key-Seru, he vanished from the field. He heard as Juggernaut stepped through the portal. The youths ducked off to the side, but still looked quite shaken. Again, Juggernaut stepped. This one came up from beneath them, through another portal. They did not exect that one. Finally, Cort mounted Juggernaut behind his head as he crossed the threshold into my chamber.

Cort gave the command.

Juggernaut blasted the youths with the Dark Eclipse energy-breath weapon.

But one stayed standing. Even as Juggernaut pulled back to return to his misty nest, the blue haired youth stood up, visibly shaken, but mostly unscathed. That in itself was an unnerving miracle. He should have been literally vaporized. But even the other two had survived, if only barely. It must have been the work of the Ra-Seru.

The Blue-haired one gripped the talisman around his neck, and Cort gaped in horror as a portal, exactly like the one he had ridden Juggernaut through, appeared behind the kid. There was another of the creature in existance. Where this one slept, Cort did not know. But he did not have time to find out. He was hit by the breath weapon of the second Juggernaut and knocked over the railing. Down Cort fell, right onto his own Juggernaut.

The Key-Seru reacted to the touch of its Lock-Seru. As the building came crashing down around them, Cort fused with Juggernaut through his Key-Lock combination. Somehow, they survived. And Songi appeared, digging them out of the ruins. He claimed to Cort, whom had become Juggernaut, that Cort could exact his revenge upon the blue-haired one. Songi led Cort straight to Rim Elm. And Cort overtook it as a Seru-Town, just like Conkram.

Cort slept deep inside. He had become the perfect being. A mix of both human and seru, though the Seru part would not admit to being half human. To protect his prince, moreso to keep him from the kids, Songi placed a barrier over the outside mouth of Juggernaut so the trio could not get inside to destroy him. He had other matters to attend to...ones that had Cort previously known about, he would have killed Songi for treachery. But after only two hours in solitude, the barrier was released. The kids must have finally beaten Songi. Yes, Cort could feel them as they climbed down into Juggernaut's system. Through his airways. Through his veins.

Finally, Cort was awakened by Noa, calling to him. He snuffed her away like she was a fly. But all three of them came racing back, forcing Cort to take his complete physical shape. The Ultimate Perfection. The True Juggernaut. The form that Juggernaut had always wanted. And Cort was the one to make it happen. The trio fought long and hard against both Juggernaut and Cort, whose powers were seemingly combined in this new monstrosity.

Feeling severly fatigued, the monster backed down, and gathered enough energy for one final shot. It cast the energy wave at the youths in hopes of killing them for good. But they were so prepared. The oldest called upon the Ra-Seru of Light, which healed any injuries that they had sustained in the fight. Cort knew he was finished after that. The Blue-haired one once again summoned his own Juggernaut, and Cort fell back, defeated. The Ra-Seru used the last of their powers to destroy the assimilated body of Juggernaut as the Seru-Kai died. And so closed the last chapter of the History of the Mist.

Or did it?

------------------

For anyone who requires proof that Juggernaut has 6 legs, I have ingame FMV footage that can verify it. As for Cort killing Songi for treachery, Songi's plan was to absorb all the energy from the Mother Genesis Tree. Once that happened, he believed all of the Seru would die. But the thing is, Simulant Seru are infact not True Seru. They, along with being synthetic, are capable of making their own, sentient rational choices. Capable of living without anyone to look after them, unlike the normal everyday Seru. So in this way, they would not have been destroyed when the Mother Genesis Tree died.
